B.T. Washington PTA

PTA. Every Child. One Voice.

PTA's Mission: Every Child, One Voice.

PTA is a national organization whose mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. PTA is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. Today’s PTA is comprised of more than 4 million parents, teachers, grandparents, caregivers, foster parents and other caring adults who share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all children. PTA’s slogan reflects their mission: Every Child, One Voice.

On the school level, Booker T. Washington Middle School PTA aims to support and advocate for each student, parent, and teacher through volunteerism, fund raising, and programs (both education and recreational).

Membership: We need you!

By joining the BTWMS PTA, you are not only showing support for your student(s) but also for the school’s educators, administration, and staff. In order to continue to provide programs and host events such as dances and teacher luncheons, we need the strongest PTA possible. A PTA is strongest when it’s membership numbers are high and the members are involved.

We need you! Please take a look at our Hub web page. Also, join the PTA this school year. When you join the school PTA, you become a member of every level of PTA through to the National PTA.

Volunteers: We need you!

Raising Funds

Harris Teeter "Together in Education"

If you are a Harris Teeter shopper, you can connect BTWMS to your VIC card and the purchases you are already making will earn money for the school. The Booker T. Washington Middle School code is 6192 and it can be linked to your VIC card online, at the register, or at customer service. Please note: Our school must be reconnected to your VIC at the beginning of every school year so even if you have done so in the past, you must reconnect it for the 2019-2020 school year.

Box Tops for Education

You may have noticed a change to the Box Tops for Education program. Starting this year, fewer products will have the "clipable" box top we are all familiar with. Box Tops for Education has transitioned to an app-based program in which you scan your receipts. We will continue to take clipped box tops for as long as they are on products so keep sending them in! The app is available in the App Store and on Google Play. Please be sure to designate Booker T. Washington as your school before you start scanning receipts.

THE OLD
BOX TOPS CLIPS

Old Box Tops Clips

Traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. You can still clip and send them to school.

Every valid Box Tops clip is worth 10¢ for your school. Make sure each one has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date.

* All valid Box Tops clips submitted per the Program Rules by a Coordinator of an eligible, enrolled school will be honored.

THE NEW
BOX TOPS LABELS

New Box Tops Labels

Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.

If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
